Woodbury Jewish Center

Our Early Childhood Education Program focuses on the social, emotional, academic, and physical, needs of each child in a warm, stimulating, creative, and loving environment.  Children learn through play and exploration to become independent, self-confident, and excited about learning.

Our Goals
Engaging experiences are provided to encourage development in the following areas:
•    Social-Emotional Development
•    Cognitive and Adaptive Skills
•    Fine and Gross Motor Coordination
•    Creativity and Imagination
•    Moral Growth and Development

Our Curriculum
Our UPK curriculum is aligned with NY State Early Guidelines and provides a child-centered, play-based curriculum in an exciting and developmentally appropriate environment that fosters learning through meaningful experiences and establishes a solid foundation for continuous growth in all realms of development while fostering a positive self-image.  Intentional and experiential activities are designed to meet the developmental stages of each child.  We are fortunate to have a dedicated STEAM classroom and teacher, a beautiful indoor gym, a playground and bicycle track, and an Outdoor Nature Classroom where each class spends time daily.   Daily activities include:
•    Art expression, music and cooking
•    Literacy and writing readiness
•    Math activities and science exploration
•    Language development and dramatic play
•    Nature and gardening experiences
•    Special programs to enhance learning experiences.

Our Staff
We have a low child/teacher ratio and a staff of loving and dedicated NYS licensed educators with extensive Early Childhood Education backgrounds, teaching experience and understanding of the needs of young families and children. A strong emphasis is placed on professional development so that we may continually improve the quality of our program and keep current on the latest research in our field.  We are licensed by the NYS Office of Child and Family Services.
